The matter file
Pick a matter and the kiosk prints its causal record: every notice in order, oldest first, indented by what caused it.
Reading the unabridged file: entries posted to the board and entries made indoors, both. Open a matter from a desk record instead and the file prints through that person's lens.
The record
The kiosk posts by script from ./data/. If the record stays blank, serve this folder over HTTP with scripts on and reload.
How to read the file
- indent
- Each notice sits one step deeper than the notice that caused it. The first line is the cause of everything under it.
- doorway tape
- The matter leaves the board at this line and continues indoors. A second tape marks where it returns. Community readers do not see past the doorway; their copy carries a note instead.
- note rows
- Where entries are indoors and the reader is not, the kiosk says how many, and whether the matter was resolved internally or is receiving internal attention. It does not summarize them.
- short files
- A matter that died at the first desk prints at its honest length. One notice is a complete file.
